DIATONE P-610MB with Open Baffle

Full Range with Open Baffle project

I took the Diatone P-610MB( 8 ohm) from a bass reflex box, and mounted on open baffle.
The baffle was made of 5/8" thick plywood(well, not birch).The design was from a book by Noguchi the "iron man".

I spent one weekend afternoon ,buy the board and made it cut according to the plan.

Oepn baffle design is pretty easy , it's a very good start for person "without" woodworking skill like me.Since there are no "real" joint at all.I simply cut the board and glue them together and drill some hole , mount the driver ,connecting wire,then it's all done.

The sound is nice , blend well with my Fostex super tweeter , but as you might expect, not for rock&roll.

Line Array Speaker

I am getting more and more interested in different speaker design .
Originally I want to try infinte baffle design (and make good use of my Diatone P-610MB).
But recently I found some interesting stuff about line array speaker when I surfing the net.
Since those small full range speaker from Tangband were quite cheap, I should give them a try.
Maybe they will sound good in TaShi house .

Update 20060502
Recently , there is a group buy rush for Tangband w4-1320. I did not join for some reason.
After I study some info from internet , I start to realize line array is not how it looks like , not as waht I've imagined at least.

Plate choke

These two iron stuff are 70H/30ma plate choke for driver stage.It did not improve the sound as I expected, somehow brought a narrower bandwidth impression . Maybe they're not good quality choke, need to figure out this later....
